5 Minute Face: Drugstore Edition!
#makeupmonday
Last week we showed off our favorite drugstore beauty picks, so it should come as no surprise that some of the items are making another appearance on the drugstore edition of my 5 minute face. In fact, this is my everyday face (because I never have more than 5minutes in the morning), whether I use department, high end, drugstore products or a combination of all, I pretty much look the same everyday. I can do this face in my sleep.
After I’ve washed and moisturized, I apply Revlon colorstay in Carmel400, using the Sonia Kashuk flat top blush brush. Never mind that this is suppose to be a blush brush it blends liquid foundation to perfection. I typically dip the tips in the jar of the foundation, and then blot it around on the back of my hand before buffing it onto my face (about a pea sized amount is enough). I love Revlon colorstay but, my biggest gripe is that the foundation doesn’t have a pump.
Next, I fill in my brows. I stumbled upon using a Wet N Wild eyeliner as a brow pencil one day when I was in a rush, and couldn’t find my pencil sharpener. This liner is an epic failure for eyes, but is decent (not the best) for brows. Then I move onto blush. In the photo I am wearing Maybelline Plushed plum although it is difficult to see. Check out this post on where to apply apply blush. Afterwards, I use el cheapo Jane 01 colorless loose powder and a kabuki brush to set my foundation. I figure the blush set it on my cheeks so I skip them unless I was a little generous with the blush.
If you’ve been reading the blog for a while, you know that since trying HiP creme liner when my fluid line dried out, I haven’t looked back. I normally line the entire upper lid, extending the line up and out just a bit on the outer corner. On my lower lashes I line from the outer corner to about the center. I finish my eyes with L’Oreal telescopic mascara in Carbon Black.
Lastly, I complete the routine (usually in my car) with a tinted gloss. Since my lips have been extremely fickle lately, I used the NYX tinted lip spa in Orange Passion, which doesn’t look very orange at all.
What are your favorite drugstore products, and what items do you use for your 5 minute face?

@Cogeta Thank you for commenting! I’m glad you found it helpful, the drugstore is a great place to start experimenting with makeup especially when there are BOGO sales. Check out this article for some good drugstore products

I love this article! I’m totally going on a shopping trip later tonight to find these items and try them out. I’ve always wanted to try wearing makeup (right now I only wear mascara, blah) and this will be very helpful. Thank you!
