Tips on how to properly apply mascara

Step #1: Start at the base of the lash line, and wiggle the wand left to right

Step #2: Still wiggling, move toward the tips. The wiggling separates the lashes, and ensures the product gets distributed on each lash.

Step #3: Apply one final coat to the top of lashes, starting at the base and moving up toward the tips.

Tip #1: Slow Down! One of my biggest pet peeves is to see someone rapidly applying. Slowing down will get you the most coverage, and you don’t have to worry about poking your eye out.

Tip #2: To combat clumping, Start with clean lashes. Residue from past applications, is a major culprit of clumping. Another cause of clumping is buildup on the wand. Remove excess mascara from the wand by wiping it on a tissue, or use a lash comb to get out any clumps.

Tip #3: Use an eyelash curler to widen and open up your eyes. Curling can be done before or after mascara application, just ensure the mascara is dry first. Give the curler a blast of hot air from your blow dryer for maximum curl.

Tip #4: Do not pump your wand. It will cause it to dry out sooner and introduces more bacteria.
