The Working Girls Guide to Winter clothes.
Dressing for winter is one thing, but when you have to report to a office that requires business attire, your warm Ugg’s and over sized sweatshirts (no matter how fashionably fabulous they are) must be left at home. (Yes, even if you belt them and wear tights.)(… Yes, even on casual Friday.)
Keeping warm inside an office is already an arduous task in itself, year round. But in the winter you must also endure the elements outside and still look phenomenal. Here are key Winter items to keep you looking great and feeling warm.
1. Trench Coat. Every working girl needs a great coat. The jean and bubble jackets will not suffice for work. Opt for a neutral color, with a removable lining.
2. Leggings. Leggings are a great way to winterize you wardrobe. You can also wear them under pants for an extra layer of warmth, without the bulk of thermals.
3. Pashmina. The difference between and pashmina and over sized scarf, is that pashmina is made of wool. It can be worn in various ways that will keep you warm once you take off your coat.
4. Ankle boots. Knee and thigh high boots can be too bulky under business pants. An ankle boot will keep your feet warm and still allow for you to wear socks.
5. Turtlenecks. Just like leggings, turtle necks are a great way to winterize your wardrobe. They can be layered with dresses, or worn alone.
