Oh what a year! Lets take a look back at some of the best moments in fashion for 2009.
Best Designer Collaboration: Christopher Kane for Topshop
There were a lot of designer collaborations to be excited about this year. Matthew Williamson and Jimmy Choo for H&M, Sonia Rykiel and Rodarte for Target, Christian Siriano for Payless and Victoria Secret; but Christopher Kane for Topshop took the number one spot. The line couldn’t have been launched at a better time. Debuting in the middle of the busiest fashion month of the year, September, all the fashion gurus were in awe. And, not just at the price. Kane’s Topshop collection remained true to form and mimicked some of his popular catwalk designs. His signature style was all over this line.
Best Fashion Film: The September Issue
Without a question the top fashion film of the year is The September Issue.
Best TV series for fashion : Mad Men and Gossip Girl
Y’all know how indecisive I can be. I had to choose both shows because they were both mega hits among the fashionable, and no matter what your style there’s something to love between the two of these shows. Mad Men was responsible for bringing back the sixties and Gossip Girl was a trending topic on twitter every time it aired. I have been known to watch both of these shows on mute, and still find them intriguing.
Best Run Way show: Alexander McQueen
Who could forget the “alien” shoes that had even the most seasoned of runway models shaking in fear? Another reason it made the top of the list is because everyone had a front row seat, thanks to the live stream on SHOWstudio.com
Top Model of 2009: Chanel Iman
Love McQueen’s collection still can’t believe he’s gone
but at least we can look forward to MAC for McQueen later on this year, cant waaait!!
