Just throw it in the bag: What to carry in your clutch #NYE

Large totes and shoulder bags have been getting a lot of love lately. And, what’s not to love about a bag that you can carry your life in and still have room for more? Statement totes may be all the rage for everyday use, but when it comes to after dark festivities, the clutch is the head purse in charge.

Because clutches are so small and generally restrict the amount of things you can carry in them, it is very important to choose wisely what goes in your bag. An easy way to remember what to carry is the acronym MILK –  MONEY, ID, LIP GLOSS, KEYS. And of course your Cell. If you have a little more room, I would suggest the following:

Wisps. These are great for longs nights, they’re small enough to fit in your clutch, and freshens your breath (a must for New Years, you never know who you might be kissing when the clock strikes 12)

Oil blotting sheets

A Perfume sample vial

Mirror

That’s it! You don’t need to carry your entire make up collection along with you. See tips on how to make your make up last below. If you’re afraid you might need something else. Carry a small bag of other items and lock them in your cars glove box. Another great place to hide things are in your boots.

TIPS ON HOW TO MAKE YOUR MAKEUP LAST ALL NIGHT:

• Use a Primer
• Opt to focus on your eyes, versus a wearing a bold lip.
• Go bright or go nude. Bright colors still look good even after they have began to fade, and nudes will wear subtle so that you don’t look like you had a make up change mid- night.
• Use waterproof mascara
• Set you make up with a fixing spray like Studio Fix
