DIY: Brooch and Corsage belt

After posting the comparison last week between the S/S 09 Dolce and Gabbana and Topshop belt – I thought how easy of a DIY this would be. I love DIY projects, I just never have the time to complete them. Needless to say, I didn’t complete this entire project either, but not because I didn’t have the time. (This project is really easy and quick to do) It was because I didn’t have all the jewels I needed. I used a pair of earrings from Forever 21 in the demo above, just to get and idea of what I’ll need. Since I’m not quite ready to part with them, I will have to find something else to take their place once I get ready to secure the ribbons to the belt. I am also waiting until I visit my Grandmother, so that I can raid her jewelry boxes of all the old brooches she has but never wears.
Sorry that I don’t have a completed project to show you, but I couldn’t wait to share it, and I think you get the idea from here. When I do complete my belt, I will be sure to update this page.

So many items are similar at vastly different prices but doing it yourself brings much pleasure as well as style.
